Honda Prelude Engine Swap
Everyone wants a better motor. In this article we will go over the basics of doing the Honda Prelude Engine swap. All that it entails, from draining the oil, to pulling it out with a hoist. This is not an easy process by far, and many have failed at doing this.
Doing an engine swap requires much more than you one would think. First thing you need to do before swapping in the new motor is make sure you have everything. A good set of tools and an engine hoist are all that is really needed when doing an engine swap. Every engine swap out there done is because they have a blown motor, or want more power. An engine swap will take about a day or 2 of your time.
Its always good to have a buddy around when doing an engine swap. A second pair of hands is always needed. First thing you do during the engine swap is drain all the fluids. Next you remove all wiring components from the engine. Than you start removing the engine mounting bolts from the mounts. To remove the last bolt or 2 you are going to need to connect the hoist to the engine and hoist it up and give it a little slack to relieve the tension.
Once that is done you can lift out the motor and finish up the swap. Once the old motor is out, you can swap in your new motor. This should swap in just fine if all preparations were done in order. This new engine swaps right in and you install everything in reverse order. If done right it should fire right up.
Doing an engine swap is not as simple as that may sound. It takes time and patience, and can not be learned online, but learned with hands on experience.
